Richard D. Cline, CPA

Rich serves in the firm's Tax Department. He joined Bowman & Company in 1994. His practice concentrates on individuals, closely held businesses, and trusts and estates.

"I enjoy the variety of the work every day," he says, "and the fact that no two days are the same. I find great satisfaction in solving problems and developing beneficial solutions." Rich searches for those solutions in such areas as tax planning for individuals and businesses, taxpayer resolution with the Internal Revenue Service and Franchise Tax Board, and in overseeing Bowman's e-filing function.

"Bowman is very family- and team-oriented," he says. "In addition, the Partners have set high standards of quality for the services we provide our clients."

Rich holds a bachelor's degree in Accounting from California State University San Jose and is currently pursuing a master's degree in Taxation from Golden Gate University. He and his wife Ginger have "three children, four dogs, three cats, and a rabbit."

Affiliations: Rich serves as Secretary-Treasurer of the San Joaquin Chapter of the California CPA Society, and serves on the California CPA Estate Planning Committee.

Off The Record: Rich was an early entrepreneur at the age of 9, he arose at 5 a.m. to deliver newspapers in his hometown of Fremont. By the time he was 15 he was filling out his own tax return forms. "I liked doing it so much I asked my family if I could complete their returns, as well. I should have read the writing on the wall."
