Catherine H. Chan, CPA

A recent addition to the Bowman team, Catherine serves the real estate, manufacturing and professional services industries. She not only holds a master's degree in Taxation (from Golden Gate University) and a bachelor's degree (in Accounting and Business Administration, from St. Mary's College), but also a California Real Estate license.

At Bowman, Catherine serves high net-worth individuals and business owners by assisting them in tax planning and compliance issues. Among other assignments, she works with clients on tax authority notices, year-end income tax planning, and financial and estate planning.

"I enjoy Bowman's family environment and its rigorous professional standards," she says. "Working with people, assisting clients in their decision making and being given the opportunity to do innovative thinking are definite pluses."

Affiliations: Catherine is a member of both the American Institute and California Society of CPAs.

Off The Record: "After coming to the United States when I was 11 to the cold state of Minnesota — without being able to speak a word of English — I noticed that I enjoyed earning money," Catherine says. "My first job was delivering newspapers. It was nearly impossible to ride a bike on the icy roads, so I used a sled."
